REDUCTION SHOP — Slabbing „1150“ comprises 52 soaking pits with central heating, universal reduction stand, manipulator, ingot manipulator, slab shears.
In the shop carbon, low-alloy and alloy steel ingots are rolled to rerolling and commercial slabs (rectangular section rolled billet) with the dimensions of 130–230õ1000–1540 mm and length of 3.6 to 8.5 m.
Rerolling slabs intended for sheet rolling are transferred m hot condition to the Slabbing „1150“ heating furnaces area or directly to the roughing train (transit rolling).
In the soaking pits, ingot heating with liquid core has been developed.
